Our Foundation Creative Studies – Knitting programme is a 120-hour, year long supported self-study programme you can complete in your own time.
The Foundation programme is accredited by City & Guilds as an affiliate centre of Artybird Carnforth.
Debbie will be teaching this exciting new programme which will be available to study via distance learning so you can learn from the comfort of your own home at a time and pace to suit you. There’s no pressure and Debbie will be there to assist and guide you throughout your learning journey.
The Foundation programme is ideal for anyone who wishes to study their craft area in depth, which could be for personal interest or for professional development. You may have attended a number of workshops, or done an introductory programme and are now ready to progress, integrating design alongside good craft skills to develop as a designer-maker or pattern designer.
For those students who would like to gain formal accreditation, the Foundation programme also offers you the opportunity to submit your work for accreditation for a professional qualification through City & Guilds.
We are beavering away putting the final pieces in place for the Foundation programme. In the meantime, for more information about what’s involved, what you can expect to learn, fees and timeframes, we have prepared a short prospectus which has the key details about the programme.
Enrolment for the Foundation programme is now open. However, we are aware that a number of students who are keen to join the course are currently navigating the new COVID restrictions and what this will mean for them in terms of fitting revised work and family commitments around studying (as indeed are we). To give everyone time to adjust we have therefore decided that the Foundation course will begin on 1st February.
If you would like to enrol now, you may make payment and we’ll send you the preparatory materials so you can get started with sketchbooking and collecting inspiration material. Alternatively to reserve a place on the Foundation programme, you may confirm that you intend to join in which case we will enrol you provisionally on the programme and contact you in mid-January for payment. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your space.
We have lots of great videos, tutorials, design and skills assignments and more – it promises to be so much fun!
If you would like to enrol or have any questions, please complete the contact form below. We hope you can join us on this amazing learning adventure!
The Foundation Creative Studies – Knitting is a more in-depth 120 hour structured programme that runs over the course of 12 months with regular one-to-one virtual tutorials and group sessions.
Please note: This programme starts on 10th January and your course materials will not be available until the start date.
