Topic D2: Prepare your sketchbook pages

Avoiding white page panic!

If you’re not a regular sketcher, scrapbooker or journaller, you might recognise that feeling of panic when you see a blank white page. So much expectation, so much space and that pressure of what to fill it with!

What if it ‘goes wrong’ or ‘doesn’t work’? What if I can’t think of anything?

Well, it doesn’t matter. Really. It doesn’t. No, really.

I’ve set a short exercise in the pdf below and before you open it I would like you to get the following together:

  • Your sketchbook
  • Your watercolours
  • A wide brush
  • A medium or fine brush
  • Pot of water
  • Sponge
  • J-cloth or similar soft cloth that you don’t mind getting painty!
  • Some kitchen paper
  • 20 minutes of quiet time (probably the hardest thing on the list)
